2013-2014 was a bit of a slow time for me music-wise and resulted in only a couple of remixes and isolated tracks without much of a coherent concept.

Getting my first sampler/sequencer in late 2014 I had the idea of using William S Burroughs' and Bryon Gysins Cut-Up technique by combining seemingly unrelated bits of music with each other and by predominantly using samples and much less actual guitar playing than in any of my earlier stuff.

Composition-wise the pieces aren't as clearly laid out as in Aural Journal due to their peiced-together-nature. However the individual bits of music employ different kinds of concepts -- from Brownian Motions in Boros or Operator Theory in the clapping rhythm in Sarah to the many little rhythmic elements employing the fibonacci sequence -- derived from more complicated mathematical ideas than simple vector operations. A lot of times I tried combining straight forward rhythms with these more elaborate ideas to preserve a bit of listen-ability

Production-wise it is a bit of a departure from the tracks in Aural Journal. It's less grainy/coarsy and I've been playing around with thick reverbs. It's not relying as much on the guitar as in all my older tracks and ranges from a bit of a techno/house/electronica soundscape in Abell, Gnise, Enand, Sarah, Züßli and Ngata to almost orchestral sounding instrumentation with the timpanis, tubas, horns, violins, double bass etc. in Verge, Qigon and Cthul.

Part 2 of this project is being worked on although a release date is not set in any way as I've got a pretty slow workflow, but to stay updated you could always check out my soundcloud or facebook page and if you've got any inquiries just drop a message and I'd be happy to answer!

Until then,
